Jimmy McInnes unable to play for Liverpool

Thursday, March 9 – 1939
Jimmy McInnes, Liverpool’s Scottish left half-back, will not be fit to play against Portsmouth at Anfield on Saturday. His place at left-half will be taken by Tom Bush, who moves from centrehalf to re-admit Fred Rogers.

McInnes underwent X-ray examination this week. This revealed that the bones were broken in the foot, and the injury is not serious.
