The colours blue and white have played a prominent part in the results of recent big sporting events. Portsmouth, who won the English Cup, play in blue and white; Everton, League champions, and Blackburn Rovers, Division II champions, also play in blue and white, as do Halifax, who won the Rugby League Cup.
Blue and white were the first and second in the Derby. Blue Peter is, of course, the blue and white flag hoisted when a ship is about to sail, and Fox Club carried a blue and white jacket.
