Harry Pollard signed by Rochdale


Saturday, June 3 – 1939
Following upon the exchange of players between Rochdale and Stockport County by which Tommy Doyle leaves Spotland and Willie Harker, a wing half, arrives there, Mr. Ted Goodier (the Rochdale manager) has signed Harry Pollard, an inside right who has been with Exeter City for three seasons.

Pollard can also play at inside left. He is 22 years of age, 5ft. 9in. in height, and weighs 11st. 3lb. He has been understudy at Exeter during his stay there to a regular first eleven players, and as a consequence has made only occasional appearances in Southern Section football.

Previous to going south, Pollard was with Sheffield Wednesday, where he appeared in the Central League side. As he lives in Liverpool, Pollard expressed a desire to join a northern club, and he was therefore given a free transfer.
