Liverpool F.C. likely to sign George Poland

George Poland, the Wrexham goalkeeper, who performed so well for the club last season and also kept goal in masterly fashion for Wales, is likely to be signed by the Liverpool club to-day. Poland has earned a high reputation since he joined the Welsh club in 1938, and well-earned international honours.

Poland previously played for Swindon Town and Cardiff City. Twenty-four years of age, Poland stands 5ft. 10in., and weighs 11st. 6lbs. He appeared in 39 League matches for Wrexham and played against Ireland and France.
