Twenty Liverpool players yesterday changed soccer clothes for uniforms, paraded as Territorials in the 9th King’s Regiment, Liverpool (K.L.R.), and unless the international situation improves, the club will have only nine professional players for the First Division match with Chelsea on Saturday.
Army authorities have told the club that they cannot promise special leave for the players if the situation does not improve. Liverpool officials have not yet made any decision about Saturday’s match.
