Liverpool suggest new League structure

Liverpool Football Club have submitted a scheme to the Football League regarding the constitution of the Leagues in season 1940-41, if the national situation is unchanged. They suggest four regional leagues, instead of eight as at present. These regions would be Lancashire and Yorkshire, South and Midlands, North, and South. (Western Morning News, 13-02-1940)
