Letter from Berry Nieuwenhuys

May 9, 1943
I received a letter from Berry Nieuwenhuys today, and he states that his back is going on fine. He is having special baths to get away the bruising, and is being massaged by Norman Wainwright, the swimming champion and masseur.

“I don’t think it will be long before I am fit to play again,” states Berry. “Maybe another week will see me quite okay again.

“In any case, please tell Mr. Kay that I shall be ready for the cup-ties. The old Reds have a pretty tough cup programme, but the bigger they are the harder they fall. I think I shall be available every week shortly. My best wishes to everyone.”
