Football officials throughout the North will learn, with regret, of the passing of Mr. James Cherry, the Liverpool company secretary and accountant.
Mr. Cherry died after a short illness, and with his passing many, including myself, lose a valued friend. Jim was known to football directors and officials throughout the country.
A staunch Liverpudlian, he acted for years as steward in the private directors’ room at Anfield. Occasionally he made a trip to away matches and his favourite journeys were to Burnden Park to renew acquaintance with his many Bolton Wanderers friends.
