Here is some news from Anfield. In the first place I can tell you that Liverpool, next season, will include among their “guest” players, George Mills, now a pilot officer in the R.A.F., that Roy Guttridge will also be available, and that Alf Hanson, the club’s former winger, hopes to be able to assist his old club.
Hanson was out training on Tuesday night, when Liverpool held a very satisfactory practice for juniors. Hanson kicked well with the foot which was injured last season.
Mr. George Kay tells me that most promising material was on view among the juniors. He adds that the list of applications for “try-outs” is a long one and that applicants will be taken in rotation. On Tuesday the boys had ball practice and several other limb-loosening exercise, including several laps on the pitch.
