Thursday, October 1 – 1942
The British Empire feather-weight championship fight between Sergt. Nel Tarleton, RAF (holder), and Sergt. Tom Smith, Durham Light Infantry, at Anfield Football Ground, Liverpool, on October 10 has been cancelled.
Smith has been compelled to cry off owing to the serious illness of his brother. A new date probably will be arranged.
Sergt. Freddie Mills, RAF, the new cruiser-weight champion, is to fight Al Robinson, Leeds at a charity tournament at Belle Vue, Manchester, on October 23.
