Ted Hancock in the services

Monday, May 17 – 1943
Ted Hancock, former Lincoln City outside right, is now in the services and scored five times in a recent Army v RAF game. The two teams taking part were composed chiefly of professional footballers.

Hancock joined City in 1938, and had previously played for Gainsborough Trinity, Liverpool, Burnley and Luton. Trinity signed him up from Denaby Main, and within a season had received a fee from Liverpool for him. He had the gratification of scoring against Arsenal in the first League game in which he ever appeared. With City he made 33 first team appearances and scored five goals.
