October 8, 1943
Billy Liddell, Liverpool outside-left, cannot play for Scotland against England at Manchester on October 16 as he is in hospital suffering from a cracked ankle received when playing for an R.A.F. team on Sunday. This is the second time he has had to withdraw from a Scotland eleven. In February 1942, concussion kept him out of his country’s team against against the Royal Air Force at Newcastle.
