George Alfred Richards, J.P., native of Liverpool, Permanent Secretary and Librarian, Liverpool Incorporated Law Society, which he has served for 36 years.
Has spent great deal of his life in public service. Was member old West Derby Board of Guardians from 1925 until it was taken over by the Corporation in 1930, when he became co-opted member Public Assistance Committee of which he is still a member.

Among various offices holds that of Hon Secretary, Liverpool Poor Person’s Committee. Is member Assistance Board Appeals Tribunal, and is a manager of St Margaret’s Central School, Anfield.
During last war served with King’s Regiment (Liverpool), 1914 – 1918. Was invalided out with permanent injury to a leg.
Appointed magistrate 1938, and is member Licensing Committee. Has been director, Liverpool Football Club, since 1934.
In political life holds office of chairman, Belmont Road Conservative Club, and of Anfield Ward Conservative Committee. Has been active worked in Anfield Ward and West Derby Parliamentary Division for many years.
Since 1930 has been honorary secretary West Derby Conservative Association.
