Jimmy Payne a member of Liverpool unbeaten reserve team – leader of the Liverpool County Combination – left to join the Services last week, but manager Mr. George Kay took no chance, and secured Payne on a professional form before the lad departed. Payne, aged 18, is a Bootle boy who has the makings of a brilliant inside-forward.
