Death of a former Brechin footballer
The death occurred in Brechin Infirmary to-day of one of Brechin’s best known personalities, Mr. Frank Gray, who until his retirement a few years ago was chief keeper of Brechin cemetery.
Mr. Gray, who was 75 years of age, was exceedingly active till quite recently, and it was only two days ago that he had his serious breakdown.
In his younger days he starred at half-back for the local football club, and when half-backs were allowed to throw in after a run of many yards, he used to send the ball into the goal-mouth from the middle of the touch-line.
A most genial companion, his fund of humorous stories was always appreciated. He is survived by his wife and grown-up family.
