A huge cake in the form of a football field, complete with players, goalposts, nets and the record of their American tour in icing greeted the Liverpool Football Club directors and players when they returned to the city by motor-coach from Southampton. The cake, in the club’s colours, was made by a confectionery firm with which the chairman of the club is connected. In America Liverpool played 12 games, won them all, and scored 70 goals against 10.
