Roy Saunders, young wing-half who, as an amateur on Hull City’s books, made many appearances last season for Buckley Juniors, has signed for Liverpool. He appeared in various games for Under-17 sides and attracted the interest of various clubs, including West Ham. City would have liked to retain him, but Saunders, who hails from the Manchester area, was anxious to join a club where he would be nearer home.
