December 17, 1951
Mr. Don Welsh, Liverpool F.C. crosses to Belfast to-day for negotiations with Distillery F.C. for the signing of Jimmy Clugston, centre forward, who has completed a month’s trial at Liverpool. Clugston played against Huddersfield Town Reserves at Liverpool on Saturday, and once again strongly impressed Mr. Welsh and other officials with his natural ability and speed. It is expected that Clugston will sign the necessary forms to-day.

In the meantime Mr. Welsh will complete final arrangements for the transfer of Willie Fagan (Liverpool) as player-manager for Distillery.
