Did Don watch Don Joe?

Saturday, November 20 – 1954
Mr. Don Welsh, manager of Liverpool F.C., and one of his directors watched Aberdeen ‘A’ play at Dens Park on Saturday. So far they have made no approach for any player, but may do so after the weekly meeting of their board of directors tonight.

It is possible that the Anfield club were having a look at Joe O’Neil, who recently asked to be placed on the open-to-transfer list. The Aberdeen club didn’t accede to this request, but they are willing to listen to any reasonable offer for his services.
