Gerry Byrne, who has been on Liverpool’s amateur staff since leaving school at the age of 15, was 17 yesterday, and has been signed on full-time professional forms.
A native of Liverpool, Byrne is a left full-back of considerable promise who has been doing well in the various junior sides run by the Anfield club.
He has also played for the Liverpool County FA. He is 5ft. 9½in, and 11st.
