Tranmere Rovers have signed former Liverpool forward, George Scott, on a month’s trial. Scott has been playing in South African football with Port Elizabeth and returned to England at the weekend. Now 23, Scott was an Aberdeen schoolboy and joined Liverpool Bobby Graham and Gordon Wallace. After a few seasons at Anfield he returned to Scotland and joined Aberdeen, and after playing for their first team he went to South Africa.
He was in the Port Elizabeth side that won the South African championship two seasons ago, and although he is a midfield player, is the fourth highest scorer in that league this season. Scott, who is 5ft. 6in., was recommended to Tranmere by Liverpool and makes his debut for the Rovers Reserves at Prenton Park on Saturday against Ellesmere Port in the Cheshire League.
