John Toshack worry

July 29, 1974
Liverpool’s Welsh international striker John Toshack went into hospital to-day for a check-up on a leg injury. Manager Bill Shankly said: “There is a swelling on his leg. We don’t know how it happened but it is best to have a medical examination as quickly as possible.”

This is the first injury upset in the Liverpool training schedule which has moved smoothly along his well-proven lines. They are now building up to a busy pre-season spell of three matches in Germany, the Charity Shield and the Billy McNeill friendly at Celtic.
