Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier will delay his decision on signing either Alexander Golovko or Rigobert Song until the end of the week. Ukraine star Golovko and Cameroon international Song impressed in a trial game yesterday.
“Everything went very satisfactorily,” said Houllier. “We will make an assessment soon.”
Houllier can only sign one of the triallists – who both need work permits – because Liverpool already have two non-EC players: Patrik Berger and Brad Frieldel.
The Frenchman is also waiting for Thomas Helmer to decide if he will switch to Anfield from Bayern Munchen on a free transfer.
