Medals for Everton

Wednesday, April 23 – 1884
Last evening a very pleasant gathering of the members of the above club took place at the Sandon Hotel, Stanley Park, or the purpose of presenting silver medals to the members of the team who had been successful in carrying off the Liverpool and District Cup.

The medals were the gift of Messrs. Brookes and Arthur Boylett (vice presidents), and took the form of Maltese crosses, with a suitable inscription.

In the absence of Mr. John Houlding (the president), Mr. Edwin Berry occupied the chair, and after the usual loyal toasts Mr. Brookes made the presentation in a few appropriate remarks, a most enjoyable evening afterwards being spent.

Of the twenty-one matches played by the first team this season fourteen have been won, two lost, and five drawn; seventy six goals were scored by them, and twenty three against them.
