The vacancy in the Everton Division

Our Liverpool correspondent telegraphs: – A meeting of the Everton Divisional Council of the Conservative party too place last night, when it was announced by Mr. John Houlding that his health would not permit of his accepting Parliamentary honours.

The probable candidates now are Lord Claude John Hamilton and Mr. David Maciver, ex-M.P. for Birkenhead.
