The Army is just now the recruiting ground for football clubs. Preston North End opened the way with William McKennie and Billy Stewart, and Sunderland are endeavouring to attract Tommy Hyslop from his allegiance to the colours. Now I hear that the Blackburn Rovers have turned their eyes to the Army, and are making overtures to a Lancashire man who is stationed with his regiment in Ireland. The man is a half-back, and a good one, too, but surely the Rovers could do with forwards rather than half-backs.
