Sam Raybould for Derby County

Saturday, April 14 – 1894
Admirers of local talent will be pleased to learn that young Sammy Raybould has been signed on for next season with Derby County, and has had his wages raised from 15s. to 25s. per week, and should he come up to what a many good judges think he will, and gain a place in the League team he has better terms still offered to him.

He has scored almost all the goals for the Chesterfield Town team since he has been with them, and after scoring both goals and playing a grand game in the field (at inside right) against Heanor, the committee decided to play him on Thursday against Notts Forest in their Midland County League, and should he give a satisfaction in this match, he will in all probability have a place in the team against Darwen.
