Upon arrival of the team at the Exchange Station they (ref.: Liverpool players) were met by an immense crowd, who cheered repeatedly, and most of the players were carried shoulder high to waggonette – Andrew Hannah, in particular coming in for special notice. No final account would be complete without mentioning the almost phenomenal charm and personality which follows the Liverpool captain, whose record, as far as Liverpool football generally is concerned, has been most unique, having captained both First, Second and Lancashire League champions.
