“Jimmy Ross, Frank Becton, and Davie Hannah, of the Liverpool club, have,” says the Liverpool Courier, “applied and been granted their transfers. Ross and Becton will return to the North End club, and D. Hannah, it is believed will accept a good offer from the Aston Villa club.”
On inquiring at the North End offices, we are informed that there is not the slightest ground for the above statement – that, in fact, no such matter has ever been considered.
There is a strong feeling against the men being received back amongst the followers of the club.
