* Mr Clementson’s generosity in presenting the Liverpool FC players with gold medals should do him no harm as a tradesman in the district.
* Rumour – the lying jade – had it that both Edgar Chadwick and Alf Millward had deserted the fold and gone over to the “enemy” across the park, but the evergreen Edgar, and the dashing Milward will continue under the old colours.
