Preparing for the Theatrical Gala

February 6, 1897
Of the medical charities with which the city happily abounds none have stronger claims to the considerate support of the public than the Stanley Hospital and the Hospital for Consumption.

Through the medium of the Theatrical Football Gala, which is to be held at Anfield, on Thursday next, the people will have an excellent opportunity of showing substantial sympathy with these most deserving institutions, the pressure upon whose resource is at all times heavy.

The arrangements of the entertainment are in a forward state, the committee of the Liverpool residents and members of the theatrical profession emulating each other in earnestness to make the affair one of pronounced success.
