A player’s appeal to the League

Frank Briggs, the Everton goalkeeper, is appealing to the Football League against the prohibitory price which Everton have placed upon his transfer. Both Blackburn Rovers and Woolwich Arsenal desired to secure his services, but the former were asked £100 and the latter £90 for the transfer, which in both cases was though to be exorbitant, seeing that Everton had him from Darwen for £50.
