It will probably not surprise the public that the managers of the Liverpool Club are just now somewhat desirous about the personnel of their team, and that efforts are being made to strengthen the forward division. Negotiations are going on with respect to obtaining the services of several new men, and one has been secured. This is a young fellow named John Cox, who has been playing with the Blackpool club. He is said to be a very good outside left wing man, twenty years of age, 11st in weight, and will be eligible to play in the next League match, when he will probably be given a trial. The report received from the training quarters of the team at St. Anne’s-by-the-Sea are very hopeful for next Saturday’s Cup tie at Derby.
