Ned Doig, the goalkeeper, has this week been confined to bed through the effects of an attack of influenza. It appears that the Sunderland left on Friday evening for Nottingham, where the next day they were to play a League match, and that Doig had slept in a damp bed on the night before the day, receiving a bad cold. On Sunday he was attended by a doctor, who stated that he expected the internationalist would recover his health by the end of the week, and it is fully expected he will be able to stand in goal for his club on Saturday.
