Davidson, the Glossop centre forward, who was secured from Third Lanark at a heavy price, is a strong, powerful man, not very speedy and not gifted with the finer art of the player, but a bad man to face all the same, because of the forceful style which often helps him to beat cleverer players.
The star of the Glossop forward rank, however, is Goddard, who not so long ago was transferred from Stockport County. He is a real first water artiste, if all one hears is correct, makes tracks for goal in hot haste, and shoots fast and well on target.
