Meeting of the Theatrical Gala in 1900

Friday, February 9 – 1900
A meeting of the general council entrusted with the arrangements for the theatrical gala, on Thursday next, on the ground of the Liverpool Football Club, Anfield, in aid of local and general charities, was held Friday at the Alexandra Hotel, Dale-street, under the presidency of Mr. J.West, chairman. The reports of all the committee were of a highly satisfactory nature, and there was strong evidence in connection with the elaborate preliminary plans that the 1900 festival will prove one of the most successful of the series. The doll show at Messrs. Brown, Barnes, and Bell’s gallery in Bold-street will be open to the public on Monday, and continue till the following Saturday. The military naval maneuvers, largely in the hands of Captain Macnah, promise to be very interesting and picturesque display.
