With the object of ascertaining the character of the work which lies before the three clubs between whom the question of reduction appears to rest, I have examined their remaining fixtures, and to afford an easy basis for comparison have departed from the order in which the games are due to be played, and have, as far as possible, placed clubs of equal strength in a line.
Thus, if Liverpool and Albion have to meet City, the two matches will be shown in a line. The list, not including to-day’s matches, comes out as follows: –

From the table it will be seen that Liverpool have eight matches at home and only five away, whereas Albion have one more away than at home, while Small Heath have an equal number at Coventry-road as elsewhere.
