McKenna on the International Board

Friday, June 24 – 1904
The first meeting of the newly-elected Management Committee of the Football League was held at Lytham yesterday, Mr. Bentley presiding. Ned Doig, Sunderland’s goalkeeper, applied for a free transfer. The committee, while unable to grant this, recommended Sunderland to meet the player generously. The transfer of Common from Sheffield United to Sunderland was confirmed, as was that of Sikspley from Sheffield Wednesday to Glossop. The list of 78 referees was completed. Messrs. Bentley, Sidney, Lewis, and John McKenna were appointed on the International League Board.
