Sunderland and Liverpool are miles apart over Doig

Another hitch has arisen in Ned Doig’s transfer.
I have just seen the noted goalkeeper, and he states that his transfer money is so high that the Sunderland and Liverpool clubs cannot come to terms.
Negotiations are still proceeding, and it is confidently expected that one or other of the clubs will give in.
