Ned Doig suffers from rheumatism

Thursday, October 19 – 1905
Liverpool’s team for Saturday against Nottingham Forest will differ in four instances from that which performed so creditably at Sheffield last week. Alf West, whose hurt ankle prevented him playing last week, returns to his place, and Ned Doig, who is suffering from an attack of rheumatism, will be deputised by Sam Hardy, of the reserve eleven. The team will be: – Sam Hardy, goal; Alf West and Billy Dunlop, backs; Maurice Parry, Alex Raisbeck, and James Bradley, half backs; Arthur Goddard, Robert Robinson, Joe Hewitt, Sam Raybould, and Jack Cox, forwards.
