Death of an ex-Forest footballer

Saturday, July 22 – 1905
The death is reported of Teddy Peers, who played full back for Nottingham Forest F.C. during the two seasons 1899-1900 and 1900-1901. He has been an inmate of the Staffordshire Asylum for some time, and last Saturday, on being missed from his usual employment, a search was at once made. He was found lying dead, with a towel stiffed in his mouth. Death was due to suffocation.
