At the first monthly meeting of the Management Committee of the Combination, presided over by Mr. John McKenna, of Liverpool, a vote of condolence was expressed with the widow of the late Mr. John Smith, of Heywood, who was referee for a number of years.
Transfers of players were confirmed, among others, as under:-
Herbert Stafford, Heywood United to Stockport County; Stephen Preston, Heywood United to Rochdale; James Dearden, Accrington Stanley to Haslingden; Zacharias Holden, Haslingden to Rochdale.
Haslingden reported Pendlebury forapproaching W. Morton. Pendlebury contended that they acted under a misapprehension, but were cautioned for their indiscretion, and were ordered to pay Morton’s expenses to the meeting.
Rossendale agreed to give G Heaton a free transfer.
The times of kick-off for the ensuing season are: –
September, 3:30;
October, 3:15;
November, 2:45;
December, 2:30;
January 1 to January 16, 2:30;
January 23 and 30, 2:45;
February 6 and 13, 3:00;
March, 3:30;
April, 3:30.
