Struggling team affairs at Anfield

Monday, October 7 – 1912
Liverpool are on the track of another capable half-back in the hope of strengthening this portion of their team. Evidently it is going to be a difficult matter for the management to select a side which will blend; first it is the half-backs that fail, then the defence makes occasional blunders that prove fatal, while the forwards show weakness in finishing their movements. Yet there is the nucleus of a good side at Anfield, and with one or two positions more capably filled the team might easily develop into a very serviceable eleven.
