At a representative meeting of old athletes at Liverpool on Thursday night Mr. John McKenna, chairman of the English Football League, presiding, it was decided to form an Old Athletes Company of the Civil Guard in connection with the Liverpool civic scheme. At the same time it was agreed to accept none as member under thirty five years of age unless showing “bona fide” domestic reasons for not joining Lord Kitchener’s Army.
