Footballers and their rights

The following proposal by the Everton and Liverpool F.C.’s will be submitted at the annual meeting of the English Football Association, to be held in London on Monday, May 31: –

That the following addition be made to Rule 44: In the event of the dismissal of a player from the field of play the Council shall at the request of the club of which the player is a member, appoint a committee to inquire into the circumstances attending the dismissal of such player and it shall be competent or the club at such inquiry to adduce evidence, both oral and written, as they may desire, providing always that such request for the appointment of a committee shall be made within four days of the date of such dismissal from the field of aforesaid. And, further, that it shall be competent for the committee to at the same time inquire into the conduct and actions of the referee in connection with the dismissal of the player.

Notice of any amendment to the proposal must be sent to the secretary on or before the 15th inst.
