Strange form of half-time entertainment

December 1, 1915
Liverpool have not yet chosen their team for Saturday’s home game with Bolton Wanderers, but one thing they have settled; there must be no further sampling of soldier-sailor football matches at the interval. The club rightly view that the matter has gone a shade too far, and while they are anxious to encourage the Tommies and Jack Tars they must put up the cry of “Lost ball.” The ball will be taken away at the interval. This is the best way of dealing with a matter that is very awkward, and might easily have led to a serious accident.
