The annual report and balance-sheet of the Manchester City Football Club was issued to the shareholders to-day. It discloses an exceptionally prosperous state of affairs from a financial point of view; in fact it is a record year for the club.
Whereas the majority of clubs found great difficulty in making both ends meet last season Manchester City show a profit of £735, the gross receipts from matches being £5,454. This in itself must be regarded as eminently satisfactory, but the profit and loss account shows that the club has to its credit a balance of £5,200.
Satisfactory as this profit is, it would have been greater by £857 had not this sum been divided by local and general charities.
