Gunner Campbell for Southport Central

August 31, 1916
First, then, Kenneth Campbell, the gunner, is about to help Southport Central. Central will be glad. This stroke of  fortune for the Shrimpers comes about through Taylor’s appearance in goal for Liverpool, who, unable to give Campbell a game each week, are only too glad to grant permission for their brilliant goalkeeper to assist Southport. Our good wishes go towards Kenny. We shall see him when he visits our grounds, and the sight of “our” goalkeeper playing against our sides will be rather novel. We have not forgotten his game against our national side in the military match last May when he helped Scotland with a mighty display.
