Ephraim Longworth missed his first match this season through being unable to play against Manchester United at Anfield. His absence simply nerved the remainder of the Liverpool team to greater effort, and the whole-hearted captain had the pleasure of witnessing their meritorious victory. Bennett scored two goals, and put a third at Metcalf’s mercy, which the latter promptly took.
Kinsella was off the field during the last fifteen minutes of the first half, and evidently felt the effects of his injury afterwards, for the Liverpool inside forwards had a roll-kicking time in the second stage of the game. Liverpool won well, and so did Stoke, Sheffield United, Leeds City, and Fulham.
