Stoke F.C. balance sheet 1917-18

The Stoke Football Club report a profit on last season of £1,280 14s. 5d. During the season a total of £568 5s. has been raised by the club for various charitable objects. No fewer than 40 playing members of the club are in his Majesty’s forces, the majority been on active service, while three have fallen in action. The directors state, in response to the special appeal of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, a further £950 was invested by the club in National War Bonds, the total holding being £1,235.
